Pump Up Masts funded by the Millenium Stadium Charitable Trust Grant

This kind donation in excess of £7000 has permitted us to purchase 2 mobile masts to allow us to set up radio infrastructure within the boundaries of Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan counties.

This infrastructure allows us to move into local communities and provide more reliable communications (Comms) in times of emergency where there is a risk of local communications failure normally associated with inclement weather or other means. 

The height gained from the use of these masts can improve blackspots in comms. Our primary use is to deploy in rest centres or key locations where a big signal may be required to assure comms for an incident.

Cardiff and District RAYNET also supports other local groups, providing the equipment is not in use for our own local emergency and to maximise the benefit of the grant, we will deploy this kit with other local groups such as Bridgend, West Glamorgan, Gwent if requested.
